The Master in The Art and Craft of the Costume Designer is in collaboration with costume shops, shoe factories, makeup, and hairstyle laboratories, Roman millineries and jewel design houses, credited for their curriculum, competence, creativity and craftsmanship level, and of service to the most important international film, theatre and tv productions, representing the highest “made in Italy” heritage and experience.

Het MFA Costume Design-programma biedt afgestudeerden belangrijke technische vaardigheden en kansen om hun vak op een gevorderd niveau te oefenen in actieve productieomgevingen. Door een rigoureus naaiprogramma te combineren met branchespecifieke ontwerpcursussen, zullen de studenten worden uitgerust voor succes in een willekeurig aantal posities in theater of film. Afgestudeerde studenten krijgen de kans om kostuums te ontwerpen voor korte en speelfilms, in samenwerking met de regisseur, collega-ontwerpers en de acteurs om kostuums te maken die de behoeften van de film ondersteunen. Afgestudeerden zullen uitstekende probleemoplossende vaardigheden en geavanceerd succes hebben in naaien, patroontekenen, draperen en speciale constructievaardigheden zoals modevak, tutu en het maken van sieraden. Elke afgestudeerde student zal een afstudeerproject en -portfolio produceren dat het scala van hun talenten in het ontwerp en de constructie van kleding en speciale items laat zien.

In this way, clothes can play a central role in various types of body-based activities, human performances, and interactions with the environment. Specialising in Performance Wear at the Swedish School of Textiles involves exploring and developing apparel that can perform – act and interact – in relation to various human activities and performances in outdoor, sports, work, or artistic contexts, considering a wide range of perspectives, including environmental, ethical, technical, and cultural factors.
